Nat Law's Tesimonial a.k.a My 5am Homework

By special request, I was asked to write my own perception towards a very good friend of mine. I got this request at 5.21am this morning and my mind instantly questioned, “who’s this orang gila who texted me a 3 page long text this hour.” That mad person turned out to be Natalie Law Wen Ni.

So when a name like Natalie comes up, it’s always Nat Law that comes to mind. Why is that so? Being a friend who has always been there for me, even to the extent of being lifeless with me till 2am playing MSN Uno, there are no words that can describe of how precious of a friend she is to me. Friends are easy to come by, but good friends like these are rare.

Let’s turn back the clock to June 2009.

My first impressions of Nat Law walking down the HELP University’s corridor were pretty straightforward. “Stay away. I bite.” Well, yes she does have that look planted on her face especially knowing someone who has a bad-ass attitude that looks like her. A look that tells you she’s not someone to mess around with. So obviously I tried to stay out of trouble by avoiding any means of possible contact until one fine day, my friends and I actually had lunch with her and we happened to sit at the same table. Now let me clarify something here. I didn’t know she was pretty good friends with my friends until that day so please don’t get an impression that she’s some sort of sucked up person.

So it was that lunch time at Ali Maju which totally changed my impression towards her. And the best part was, she isn’t the person I thought she was. Till today, I continuously challenge myself not to be prejudice towards people and time and time again, I’m completely surprised against my own perceptions. I guess knowing Nat Law made me learn a lot in life and that is to not judge one by its cover.

If there’s one word that I could use to describe Nat, it would be FUN.

Why FRIENDLY?

Does the word explain itself in whole? After all, she said hi before me so I must be pretty embarrassed of having lost out to a girl in striking a conversation. Oops.

Why UNPREDICTABLE?

Nat Law does the most unpredictable and random things. It’s the trait that makes her so lovable. Who likes boring people anyways?

Why NATALIE LAW?

It’s because it’s THE NATALIE LAW. I can’t imagine ever coming across another Natalie Law that is like her and really, a very unique person. I have never come across a girl who voluntarily come up to me and ask,

“When can I go into the paintball field and take photographs in the middle of a game?” I just think it’s really interesting to know she’s someone that is so versatile in life, someone who hardly complains about things and is ready to put others before herself.
